Craft Beers on Tap at River Hills Sports Grille
Allagash Black   Allagash Black
ABV: 7.5% | Style: Belgian Stout
Origin: Portland, ME

Allagash inter-mingles many different beer styles in the Black. It is first brewed as an American Stout, giving it its pitch black color and dense mocha colored head. The aid of Oat in the brewing process makes this smooth as silk, like an Oatmeal Stout. The addition of Belgian Yeast will bring out dark fruit flavors in the finish with just a hint of spice and clove. This will appease both the Guinness drinker as well as the Belgian beer connoisseur.

New Belgium Ranger IPA   New Belgium Ranger IPA
ABV: 6.5% | Style: India Pale Ale
Origin: Denver, Colorado

From the makers of Fat Tire, this beer is the Belgian-style brewery’s take on an American styled IPA. Brewed with an abundance of hops (Chinook, Simcoe, Cascade), this IPA is a burst of citrus flavor. Don’t count on a balanced flavor— this beer is a barrage of hops. The Ranger IPA is a hoppy 70 IBU’s and if you’re counting, under 200 calories. It is clean, crisp and best paired with Chicken, particularly our infamous wings.

Flying Dog Double Dog Double Pale Ale   Flying Dog Double Dog Double Pale Ale
ABV: 11.5% | Style: American Double/ Imperial IPA
Origin: Frederick, MD

Deep red in color and has provocative aromas with hints of raisins and citrus. A nice clean taste with a certain crispness that does this beer wonders! A great flavor balance of bitter citrus hops and sweet malt despite the higher ABV… This brew goes down very easy and paired with a nice spicy dish, it is perfection!

Stone Vertical Epic Ale 11.11.11   Stone Vertical Epic Ale 11.11.11
ABV: 9.4%  | Style: Belgian Amber
Origin: Escondido, CA

For those of you who are unaware, the Stone Vertical Epic Series started September 9, 2009 (09.09.09). The Stone brewers decided to brew four Belgian masterpieces to be aged until the final 12.12.12 edition, in which the drinker will have four different Vertical Epic Ales in a flight to be drunk (pun intended) vertically from oldest to newest. We bring to you the 11.11.11 edition, a Belgian amber brewed with cinnamon and the famed Hatch chilies from New Mexico. Add in the slight banana flavor from the hops and you get an amazing blend of flavors to make this beer truly worthy of the name “Epic”. Get a sneak peek of the latest Vertical Epic Ale right now so you don’t have to wait until December.

Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest   Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest
ABV: 6.7% | Style: India Pale Ale (IPA)
Origin: Chico, CA

To describe this beer in two words: world class. Every beer aficionado knows that the best beer is fresh beer. You don’t get any fresher than Sierra Nevada’s Fresh Harvest series. Brewed with Centennial and Cascade hops from the Yakima Valley in Washington, the hops are picked and shipped overnight to the brewery in the same day. The freshness allows for the oils in the hops to be soaked up in the beer batch, unlike other beers, which use dried hops. The 60 IBU’s make this IPA actually a little subtler in hop profile than other IPA’s, but the Northern Hemisphere Harvest is absolutely gorgeous and a “can’t miss” beer on our list.

Troegs Hop Back Amber Ale   Troegs Hop Back Amber Ale
ABV: 6% | Style: Amber
Origin: Harrisburg, PA

A mildly hazed amber-orange color is topped with a steady, creamy white head. The aroma will yield off hints of caramel, citrus and pine leading into a refreshing finish of grapefruit, orange rind and candied malt sweetness. The hop profile can make some consider this an IPA, yet it possesses the drinkability of an amber giving it the perfect balance between to desired styles.

Maredsus Brune   Maredsus Brune
ABV: 8% | Style: Belgian Brown Ale
Origin: Denee, Belgium

Whenever we get Belgian beers, we go crazy because we love them so much. But this time, what we’re getting is an entirely different breed. You just don’t get any more authentic with Belgian beer than a Maredsus. Brewed in the monastic abbey of the School of St. Benedict, its recipe is very closely guarded. Needless to say, this beer is special. Originally brewed for Christmas, the Brune has a creamy, burgundy body with a caramel bouquet. The sweet, fruity finish makes it a masterpiece. You don’t find this beer every day. Make the most of it while we still have it!

Nectar Ales Humboldt Brown Hemp Ale   Nectar Ales Humboldt Brown Hemp Ale
ABV: 5.7% | Style: Brown Ale
Origin: Paso Robles, CA

An incredibly rich profile and unique herb-accented flavor from hemp seeds incorporated in the brewing process makes this brown ale full of complexity and deliciousness. Its accolades include two gold medals in California’s 1999 & 2000 craft beer brewing competition and Gold at the 2006 World Beer Cup. Fermented with a unique yeast strain that only Nectar Ales has, the beer is nutty and herbal, with hints of wheat and chocolate malts. This beer is fantastic with our BBQ Brisket, Turkey Rachel, and Onion Rings.

Dogfish Head 60 Minute   Dogfish Head 60 Minute
ABV: 6% | Style: IPA
Origin: Milton, DE

Ahhh the famed Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. Getting its name from the 60 minutes of continuous hop additions during the brewing process, this IPA has a comparatively low 60 IBU’s. A session beer for most, this IPA is a good gateway beer for those experimenting with the American IPA craze. A solid, balanced beer with good flavor, this is the beer that put Dogfish Head on the map and eventually one of the giant microbrews in this country. Every beer fan, especially a fan of IPA’s, must try at least a glass of 60 Minute.

Unibroue Terrible   Unibroue Terrible
ABV: 10.5% | Style: Belgian Abbey
Origin: Quebec, Canada

There is only one brewery in the entire world that can say that every beer they’ve ever made is ranked in the Top 100 beers in the world. That brewery is Unibroue, the French-Belgian style brewery based in Quebec, infamous for their balanced, rich, and down-right delicious beers. Melt away the freezing cold with Terrible, winner of NINE International Medals, two of them Gold. What makes this beer a big deal? Maybe it’s the subtle flavors of fruit and complexion of Madeira wine notes. Perhaps it could be the gorgeous dark chestnut color and persistent thick head. Whatever it is, I suggest you grab a glass and find out.

Heavy Seas Black Cannon   Heavy Seas Black Cannon
ABV: 7.25% | Style: Black IPA
Origin: Baltimore, MD

Yes, you guessed it…the infamous Loose Cannon has turned to the dark side of the force. This is essentially the same beer you’ve been drinking for years and have fallen in love with; except it’s now pitch black. What they do is use the ingredient that makes all beers dark—roasted malt, adding it during the brewing process. The assertive hop profile remains, only it is now teamed up with a charred grain flavor which will add a subtle coffee and chocolate finish.
